Google didn’t disclose what caused the problem—speculation points to a server-side misconfiguration—or exactly what it did to fix it, but users are now reporting that Express Pay functions normally. To reactivate Express Pay (or confirm it’s working):
- Open the Pixel Watch app on your phone.
- Scroll to Google > Google Wallet.
- Tap your profile icon and select Tap to pay and transit.
- Toggle on Express pay without opening Wallet.
The feature remains a subtle but meaningful differentiator for the Pixel Watch, trimming friction from an everyday action.
