French AR specialist ENGO has a new answer for endurance athletes who want performance data without a heavy face computer. Auganix reports that the engo Titanium is a 28.9-gram pair of augmented reality glasses assembled in France, with 3D-printed titanium temples that adjust horizontally and vertically and an adjustable nosebridge. For context, traditional sport glasses often weigh 25–40 grams before any electronics are added.
A heads-up display built for sunlight
The glasses use ActiveLook Light AR technology, the same platform found in ENGO's engo3 range. A high-brightness color OLED HUD sits in the wearer's field of view and remains readable even in direct sunlight. Through a companion app, athletes can customize how more than 40 metrics are presented, including:
- Heart rate
- Pace
- Cadence
- Structured interval workout targets
Widgets let users follow structured workouts and adjust pace in real time without looking away from the road. A double-tap sensor handles control, and the glasses connect over Bluetooth Smart (BLE). Compatibility with Garmin and other devices runs through the ActiveLook ecosystem. Buyers can choose standard or adaptive photochromic lenses.
Why leaving AI out was the point
ENGO made a deliberate trade-off that goes against the grain of current wearable design: the engo Titanium has no camera, no audio, and no AI. The company argues that each added feature costs weight and battery life, so excluding them helped achieve a 24+ hours minimum battery life per charge. ENGO describes the result as “the lightest augmented reality running glasses ever made with 24+ hours autonomy.”
Co-founder Éric Marcellin-Dibon framed the design philosophy: “With engo Titanium we redefine what it means to wear performance glasses. Our design is so light and seamless that athletes forget they’re even there while still delivering the most relevant data, anticipating their needs, and keeping them fully focused.” For an endurance athlete or road cyclist, that means the right information in view, exceptional comfort, and enough battery life to forget about the technology altogether.
Limited edition pricing and availability
The engo Titanium is a limited edition sold exclusively through engoeyewear.com. Pricing breaks down by lens type:
- Classic: €599 / $689.95 / £489.95
- Photochromic: €649 / $759.95 / £549.95
Color options are Azure, Silver, and Shift. The glasses are made and assembled in France.
The launch is a notable counterpoint in wearable design: sometimes the smartest move is to strip out AI and cameras entirely in favor of core data, comfort, and battery endurance.
